Who This Is Actually For
Almost nobody in Germany owns an R15. The ones that are here arrived as personal imports or came with someone relocating, and they are exactly the machines that are hard to find parts for.
If you have one, this page is worth your time. If you are browsing and the name looks close to something you own, check the model designation on the frame first — the R125 and the R3 are different motorcycles and take different parts.
What Akrapovic Does Not Publish
No weight, no power reading, no torque figure and no noise measurement. For a complete system in this price bracket that is unusual, and there is no honest way to fill the gap, so nothing is estimated here.
What the manufacturer does say is general: the Racing Line is lighter than the standard system, is built to a high production standard, and produces a racing sound. Those are claims about the line rather than measurements of this part.
A Complete System
The Racing Line replaces the headers, the mid-section and the silencer, so the standard exhaust comes off in its entirety. That is what separates it from a slip-on, and it is why a complete system costs what it does.
Titanium on a Small Motorcycle
Akrapovic names this line as titanium. On a machine of this size the material matters proportionally more than it does on a big bike: every gram taken out of the exhaust is a larger share of a 142 kg motorcycle than of a 200 kg one.
It also explains the price. A complete titanium system for a 155 cc single costs what a slip-on for a middleweight does, because the work of forming and welding titanium does not get cheaper when the tubes get smaller.
The 155 cc Single
The R15 uses Yamaha's 155 cc single with variable valve actuation, making around 18 PS. It is a small motorcycle built for markets where a 155 is a serious machine rather than a learner bike, and it has a substantial racing scene of its own in India and Indonesia.
That scene is where this exhaust belongs, and it is why Akrapovic builds it at all.
Road Approval
None. This product does not meet emission compliance requirements for street or highway use. Given that the motorcycle itself has no EU type approval, this is academic in Germany.
