DescriptionThe whole story▼
With the XSR900 GP, Yamaha gave its retro triple a fairing and a riding position borrowed from an earlier era of racing, and since 2024 it has been one of the few new machines that look genuinely old from a distance. Accossato carries it to 2026 and supplies the FC124 for it: an aluminium fuel tank cap with a quick-acting pawl, whose pin comes in six shades. Owners take these bikes to circuits, and what happens there is worth describing honestly.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Yamaha XSR900 GP, 2024 to 2026
- Aluminium throughout, machined on CNC equipment
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and closing the tank
- Pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Pawl sold separately as a spare
- New design by Accossato, established in 1969
- Check your machine against the application list
- No German ABE documented; for closed circuits
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato has been making parts since 1969 and builds this cap the way it builds the rest of the range: aluminium taken down on CNC machinery, which the firm calls robust and durable, and a shape drawn from scratch. One pull on the quick-closing pawl frees the XSR900 GP's tank, one push secures it again. The pin carries the colour, six shades on the list, chosen at the time of ordering. That pawl is kept in the catalogue by itself, so damage to it costs a small part and not a cap.
Not Everything in a Paddock Is a Race
A machine styled after a racer invites assumptions, and the most common one is that whoever rides it must be chasing a time. Plenty are not. A large part of any track day is made up of people who came to enjoy riding somewhere without oncoming traffic, who go out for half of the sessions and spend the rest of the day talking. That is a perfectly good use of a circuit, and it comes with its own version of the same practical needs: somewhere to put the XSR900 GP, a plan for fuel, and a stop that does not turn into an event. The part of the day that should be quick is the part that is not riding.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the XSR 900 GP for 2024 to 2026, and that is what this listing covers. The standard XSR900 is listed separately for the same cap. Our shop files the same reference under the MT-10 SP, the MT-07 and the MT-09 as well. Please compare your machine with the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor a parts certificate is documented for the FC124, so it is supplied for the circuit. On public roads the XSR900 GP should keep the cap it was delivered with, which normally locks with the ignition key.
Scope of Delivery
