DescriptionThe whole story▼
A four-stroke with the pulling power of the Beta RR 430 has more drive than a wet clay climb can take. Open the throttle and the rear tyre simply spins; the bike slews sideways and stops. The skill lies in the left hand, slipping the clutch just enough to feed the torque in gently, so that the tyre turns at a pace the surface can support. Accossato's C7283 gives the RR 430 four-stroke of 2015 to 2022 a clutch lever for that job: CNC-machined from Ergal 7075, long enough for four fingers, and jointed so that it can fold in a fall.
Key Features
- Folding clutch lever for the Beta RR 430 four-stroke, 2015 to 2022
- Replaces the standard lever at the original clutch mount
- Four-finger blade, longer than Accossato's brake lever
- Anti-break joint: the blade can fold forward when the bike falls on it
- Cut from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
- Blade in black, blue, orange or red; base in a dark finish
- For off-road use; no German ABE documented
Construction and Material Quality
A block of Ergal 7075 goes into the CNC machine and a C7283 comes out: that, in short, is how Accossato makes this lever in Italy, removing material from a high-strength aluminium alloy rather than casting it. The company's reasons are strength, lightness and reliability. The lever has two parts, a dark base that remains at the clutch pivot and a blade in the colour you order, connected by a folding joint. The blade's length follows Accossato's clutch design, long enough for four fingers to share the work.
Feeding Torque Into Wet Clay
On a greasy climb the clutch works almost like a traction control operated by hand. The RR 430 four-stroke pulls willingly from low revs, so the rider can pick a taller gear, keep the throttle steady and use a slight slip at the lever to take the edge off each surge. Too much slip and the drive fades; too little and the tyre breaks loose. With four fingers on a long blade, the adjustment can be made with the whole hand rather than a fingertip, which helps when the arms are tired and the gloves are caked in mud.
When a climb defeats you, it tends to happen quickly. The rear steps out, the bike turns across the slope and goes down, and if it lands on its left, the clutch lever ends up in the clay or on whatever stones lie beneath it. The joint in the C7283 lets the blade fold forward under the impact, giving it a better chance of staying usable. You will still have to lift a heavy four-stroke on a slippery slope, but you can hope to do it knowing the Beta RR 430 four-stroke still has a clutch to restart and ride away with.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Beta RR 430 four-stroke of 2015 to 2022, Accossato specifies the C7283 at the original clutch mount. The brake-side twin for the same bike and years is the B8206, which folds in the same way. Both come in black, blue or red; orange is a clutch-only option, gold a brake-only one.
Road Approval
The C7283 is not covered by a German ABE. On an RR 430 four-stroke with a road registration it is therefore not approved for public roads; it is intended for off-road and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
