DescriptionThe whole story▼
Much of the Benelli Leoncino 500's appeal lies in its details, from the little lion on the front mudguard to the round headlamp, and it is easy to add a few of your own. A coloured clutch lever is one of the smallest such details and one of the most visible from the saddle. The Accossato ESD037 is a clutch lever machined from aluminium, with a black hub, a blade in one of seven colours and an adjustable reach. Accossato lists it for the Leoncino 500 in the 2017 model year.

Construction and Material Quality
Every ESD037 is milled from a solid block of aluminium on CNC machines and then anodised in two tones. The black hub holds the lever's mechanics, the pivot and the reach adjuster, and it frames the coloured blade the way a dark border frames a picture. Because the colour is taken up into the anodised surface rather than sprayed on, it covers the blade evenly from end to end. The ESD037 is a fixed lever: the blade is one rigid piece and does not fold.
A Colour for the Little Lion
Choosing the colour is the enjoyable part. On a Leoncino whose paint already has a strong colour, a blade in a similar tone can tie the cockpit to the tank, provided the shades sit close enough together; a contrasting colour turns the lever into an accent of its own. Black keeps things quiet and suits a bike meant to look original. Silver has a technical, machined look. Gold works with warm paint and with bikes that already carry a few gold details. Remember that the ESD037 sits on the left of the bar, and the brake lever on the right will either match it or not. Some riders like the symmetry of a matching pair, others prefer a single accent on one side. Both approaches work on the Leoncino 500, as the black hub on every Accossato lever keeps a pair visually connected.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESD037 for the Leoncino 500 in the 2017 model year, mounted at the original clutch mounting. The matching EDF016 brake lever has a longer listing for the same bike, from 2017 to 2020. Leoncino 500 models from 2018 onwards are not included in Accossato's listing for this clutch lever.
Road Approval
The ESD037 has no German ABE on record, so it is sold for the racetrack.
