DescriptionThe whole story

Long-distance riding turns brake consistency into a comfort feature. On this machine the reference is the B005, 102.2 mm of friction face in the Brembo caliper. EXR reached the market in September 2026 and takes over from EXC Endurance in the B005 too.

Key Features

  • Holds its friction level through the heat cycles a TIGER 1200 RALLY EXPLORER front end goes through in a single hard ride
  • Pad code ZRM-B005C, 102.2 mm long and 42.0 mm tall - a direct fit in the standard caliper
  • Ceramic sintering keeps the coefficient of friction stable across the temperature swing a TIGER 1200 RALLY EXPLORER sees in a single descent
  • Two pads per pack, matched as a set for one Brembo caliper
  • Selected by ZCOO for the Triumph TIGER 1200 RALLY EXPLORER out of the sixteen shapes in the 2026 programme
  • The B005 is made by Okada Corporation in Japan, the manufacturer behind ZCOO's endurance-racing programme

Construction and Material Quality

Two things define how a B005 behaves: the ceramic mixture and the plate under it. Nothing about the B005 is stamped: the plate is cut, the ceramic is sintered on, and the bond is made under pressure. On the TIGER 1200 RALLY EXPLORER that translates into a lever position which does not creep as the pad thins.

Performance and Feel

The B005 in EXR is the first ZCOO mixture built specifically to replace something rather than to sit alongside it. EXR is the compound ZCOO now supplies to its endurance teams, in the B005 shape the TIGER 1200 RALLY EXPLORER takes. On a machine that covers the distance the TIGER 1200 RALLY EXPLORER covers, service life is part of the argument too.

Fitment and Compatibility

This reference is catalogued for the Brembo-equipped Triumph TIGER 1200 RALLY EXPLORER, 2022 to 2025. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 102.2 mm length and 42.0 mm height. The same B005 shape covers 117 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. The reference is a front pad; ZCOO lists no rear equivalent.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
