DescriptionThe whole story

Riding a GSX-S1000 hard means using the front brake harder than the riding position suggests. Here the shape is the B005, drawn for the Brembo caliper and measuring 102.2 by 42.0 mm. In EXR form the B005 carries ZCOO's 2026 compound, the mixture that replaces EXC Endurance.

Key Features

  • Consistent across the whole 12-year listing for the GSX-S1000, so a used bike takes the same reference as a new one
  • Wear stays even across the 102.2 mm of friction face rather than concentrating at the leading edge
  • Direct replacement for the standard Brembo pad on the Suzuki GSX-S1000 - no shims, no spacers, no modification
  • The Brembo caliper spreads under peak pressure; the B005 plate is cut stiff enough to keep the friction face flat while it does
  • Front axle only: ZCOO lists no rear pad under the B005 reference
  • Better cold performance and higher thermal stability than the compound it succeeds - fewer laps lost bringing the pad in

Construction and Material Quality

Look behind the friction face of the B005 and the engineering is all about stiffness. Expansion gaps between the friction blocks let the B005 material grow into the gaps when hot instead of building stress against itself. Everything about the B005 plate is there to stop the friction face going out of true.

Performance and Feel

Where EXR earns its place is deep in the braking zone rather than at the first touch. Better cold performance was the other half of the change, and on a GSX-S1000 used on the road that matters more than the extra force. For a GSX-S1000 that is the difference between a hard stop and a fright.

Fitment and Compatibility

ZCOO's 2026 catalogue lists this reference for the Suzuki GSX-S1000 across 12 model years (2015 to 2026). The same B005 shape covers 117 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Nothing in the ZCOO range fits the rear axle of the GSX-S1000. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 102.2 mm length and 42.0 mm height.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
