Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Ducati Diavel 1260 / S (2019–2022) PM127S

The Diavel 1260 is built on the promise of torque you can use immediately — 1262 cc of DVT twin arranged so that the answer arrives the moment you ask, at revs where most sports engines are still thinking about it. That is a specific engineering goal and a specific vulnerability. A bike that makes its case in the bottom half of the rev range is a bike where intake restriction shows up directly, because there is no high-rpm rush to distract from it. The Sprint Filter P08 PM127S is a dry polyester element with roughly double the filtering surface.

Torque is what you notice losing

The pull away from a junction and the roll-on in top gear are both transients — the engine asking for a step change in airflow rather than holding a steady state. The pressure drop across a partly loaded filter rises with flow, so it costs most exactly there. Nothing about it registers as a fault; the Diavel simply becomes a little less immediate in the way that made you choose it over something more conventional. Holding the intake at its designed restriction is what keeps that character through the service interval instead of only just after one.

One element, both versions

The base 1260 and the S with its Öhlins and forged wheels share an airbox, and the same PM127S also fits the XDiavel, both Multistrada families and the entire Panigale range — twenty Ducati models in total.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air from the clean side outwards. For a deeper clean, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse until the water runs clear, and dry fully in air — never with heat, never with a flame. Refit dry; there is no oiling step.
