DescriptionThe whole story▼
The stainless collector from Spark's 2-1 kit for the Panigale V4 — the layout that runs both banks into a single Force Evo silencer instead of a pair. Sold without the silencer, for a bike that already has one or for a build that is going together piece by piece.
Key Features
- Collector for the Ducati Panigale V4, V4 S, V4 R and Streetfighter V4.
- AISI 304 stainless steel, manual TIG welding.
- From Spark's 104 dB 2-1 kit with the Force Evo silencer.
- Supplied without silencer.
- Racing part, not approved for road use.
Two Into One
Spark builds two shapes of kit for this motorcycle. One splits into a pair of silencers under the tail; this one gathers everything into a single Force Evo case. The collector is what makes that difference — the pipework, not the silencer, decides which layout a bike ends up with.
It is also why the two are not interchangeable. A 2-1 collector will not feed a 2-1-2 kit and the reverse is equally true.
AISI 304, Welded by Hand
Stainless rather than titanium. On the complete kit that puts the weight at 4.9 kg against 6.4 for the standard exhaust — the same figure Spark quotes for the titanium 3/4 kit, because on this motorcycle the weight comes out of the layout more than out of the material.
What stainless does buy is durability. It takes a knock, it takes a re-weld, and it does not mind being removed and refitted between sessions. All the seams are TIG-welded by hand.
104 dB, Not 102
Spark rates this kit at 104 dB, against 102 for the rectangular-silencer version. That two-decibel gap sounds trivial and is not: circuits that publish a 102 limit will turn away a bike that reads 104 at the static test.
If the machine runs at events with a hard 102 dB rule, the collector to look at is GDU8838 with the rectangular kit. If the limit is 105 or there is none, this is the layout with the single case.
Installation
A 3/4 kit keeps the original collectors from the cylinder heads and replaces the section behind them, which is what this article is. Spark states compatibility with the original fairings and with closed fairings for racing use.
On Euro5 machines the plastic cover of the standard collector needs a few millimetres filed off before the Spark part seats correctly.
Fitment & Compatibility
