DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP MJ 007 adds a fuel correction to the CB 1300 S where the factory map had to be careful, and does it without a laptop, a dyno session or a remap.
Key Features
- Honda CB 1300 S (2005–2018)
- Preset fuel module, no programming required
- Corrects the mixture without remapping the original electronics
- Plug-and-play with model-specific wiring
- Around 200 g, fitted in an evening
- Unplugs at any time, nothing is written to the motorcycle
The Big Four
Honda's 1284 cc inline four is an unfashionable engine that does everything smoothly and asks for nothing. It is the last of a genuine tradition.
What a Power Module Actually Does
It sits between the motorcycle's loom and its injectors, reading what the standard controller decides and adjusting the injector opening time before the signal arrives. The original electronics keep their job and their diagnostics; the module only corrects the quantity of fuel that reaches the cylinder.
A Second Rider
Carrying a passenger loads the engine differently and exposes lean cruise settings more clearly. Owners who tour two-up frequently notice the difference before owners who ride alone do.
Small Openings Matter Most
Almost all road riding happens in the first quarter of throttle travel. A change there is felt on every corner exit and in every roundabout, which is why response is a better sales argument than peak power.
Two Products, One Catalogue
JetPrime sells this alongside a programmable unit at a considerably higher price. The choice is between a curve somebody else worked out and a curve the owner works out themselves.
When Not to Bother
A current machine with the standard exhaust that the owner has no complaint about. Fitting a correction to a mixture that is already right achieves nothing worth the money.
Riding Modes Still Work
On a ride-by-wire machine the rain and sport settings continue to shape the throttle exactly as before. The module operates downstream of all of that and cannot see which mode is selected.
A Word About Claims
Any tuning product that promises a large power increase for a small price is describing something other than what it does. This one promises response and smoothness and delivers those.
