DescriptionThe whole story

The Tiger 1050 was the road-biased Tiger — a Speed Triple engine in an upright chassis with a fairing, sold for fifteen years while everyone else chased the adventure market with knobbly tyres.

Key Features

  • Covers Tiger 1050 and Tiger 1050 Sport, 2007–2021
  • Charcoal canister, purge valve and lines removed
  • No indicator on the cluster afterwards
  • Straight onto the standard socket
  • Fifteen model years on one part
  • The standard system goes back in full

An Adventure Bike That Stayed on Tarmac

Triumph never pretended the 1050 was for green lanes — cast wheels, road tyres, a fairing built for motorway speed. That shapes what owners do with it: touring wiring rather than crash bars, and space under the fairing for the accessories that come with distance riding.

A Long Run

Fifteen model years is unusual, and Triumph revised the bike substantially in 2016 without changing the evaporative circuit. One eliminator therefore covers a 2007 machine and a 2021 one — worth knowing when the same model name spans that much change.

Saturation on a Touring Tank

A canister overfilled by repeated brimming can pass liquid fuel to the purge valve, producing a rough idle that comes and goes without pattern. On a bike whose tank gets filled to the neck at every stop, that is a realistic fault.
