DescriptionThe whole story▼
CK27065 is the ZX-6R's induction ducting in carbon, supplied complete with the stay that holds it. That last part matters more than it reads: a duct without a brace is a duct that works its airbox joint loose.
Key Features
- Carbon inlet tubes replacing the standard induction ducting
- Stay support included rather than sold separately
- Routed for the 2024 model's intake position
- Prepreg construction, autoclave cured
- Fitted behind the race cowl, with the front of the bike open
The 2024 Intake Was Revised
Kawasaki reworked this engine for 2024 with new high-lift camshafts, a revised intake and a new exhaust, deliberately moving power away from the very top and into the low and middle of the range. That makes the induction path part of a tuned system rather than a pipe: it was drawn to work with those cam profiles, and ducting that leaks or distorts undoes some of what the engineers moved. Keeping the section and the seal is the whole job.
Thin-Walled Carbon Wants a Gentle Hand
Induction ducting is built as light as it can be, which means the walls are thin and the section relies on its own shape for stiffness. It will take being clamped in its stay all day and it will not take being squeezed by hand, leaned on during another job, or held in a vice. A duct that has been crushed even slightly does not spring back, and a smaller section is exactly what the part exists to avoid.
About the Photograph
The image shown is Carbonin's own, taken with the ducting in place on the machine. This is a part whose shape means very little on a bench and a great deal once you can see where it runs.
Fitment
