DescriptionThe whole story

The export version for the 2025 Z900. Where the approved slip-ons for this machine carry EC and ECE certification, this one does not — and that is a design decision rather than a missing document.

Key Features

  • 1.5 kg fitted where the standard silencer weighs 3.93
  • Titanium body finished with a carbon fibre end cap
  • New conical muffler shape matched to the bike's lines
  • Half an hour of work, no remapping
  • Built for markets where EC/ECE approval is not required
  • Also fits the Z900 SE
  • No road approval — circuit use only

A Note on the Published Figures

Akrapovic's data for this part gives a standard output of 111.9 PS and 3.93 kg — the same numbers it publishes for the 2020 to 2024 machine. Its own data for the approved 2025 slip-on, S-K9SO11-HZT, gives the standard 2025 Z900 as 118.6 PS with a 4.12 kg silencer.

Two Akrapovic data sheets for the same motorcycle disagree. The most likely explanation is that the figures here were carried across from the previous generation and not re-measured. We publish what Akrapovic publishes and flag the discrepancy rather than picking whichever set looks better.

If the exact numbers matter to your decision, ask us and we will request a clarification from Akrapovic before you order.

What Is Not in Doubt

The material, the shape and the approval status. Titanium with a carbon end cap, a short conical muffler drawn for the 2025 bodywork, half an hour to fit, and no European road approval of any kind.

The Legal Alternative

If your Z900 is road-registered and needs to stay that way, Akrapovic builds two approved slip-ons for the same machine: S-K9SO11-HZT in titanium and S-K9SO11-HZC in carbon. Both carry EC and ECE certification and both weigh 2.04 kg.

This one is lighter at 1.5 kg. That half kilogram is what the approval costs.

Also for the SE

Kawasaki's Z900 SE adds Öhlins rear suspension, Brembo calipers and a quickshifter, and shares the tail section and silencer mounting with the standard machine. Both take this part.

Half a Kilogram Is the Whole Trade

1.5 kg here against 2.04 kg for the approved versions. That is the entire difference the missing approval buys — half a kilogram and a louder exhaust, against being legal on a public road.

Only you can weigh that. What we will not do is present a track part as though the approval question were a technicality.

Thirty Minutes

A clamp, a spring and one bracket bolt. The 2025 Z900 mounts its silencer where a socket set reaches it without removing bodywork, and half an hour covers the change comfortably.

Why Two Specifications Exist

Akrapovic builds an approved silencer and an export one for the same motorcycle because the two markets want different things. A European buyer needs paperwork; a buyer in a market without noise homologation wants the lightest, loudest part available.

Both are sold here, and we label which is which rather than leaving it in a specification table.

Road Approval

None. This product does not meet emission compliance requirements for street or highway use.
