DescriptionThe whole story▼

Accossato's AGPA106ZXC is a ceramic racing pad for the front of the current Yamaha MT-09 SP, built from 2024 to 2026. In ZXC ceramic racing compound, it gives a team working on a track-going SP a further friction material to try, next to the other racing pad on the same plate. It is for people who treat the brake as a tuning parameter and who will happily spend an hour in the garage comparing the feel of two compounds.

Key Features

  • Front pads for the Yamaha MT-09 SP, model years 2024 to 2026
  • Article AGPA106ZXC, ZXC ceramic racing compound
  • Accossato calls it a ceramic compound ideal for racing
  • A setup choice for track SPs, tested against other compounds
  • Two pads per box, which fills one caliper
  • Front brakes use two calipers, so two boxes complete the set
  • The AGPA106 also comes in ST, EV1 and EV2
  • Sold for track and competition; there is no German ABE on file

Construction and Material Quality

ZXC is the ceramic friction material in Accossato's catalogue, and the company describes it as ideal for racing. On the AGPA106 plate for the 2024-on SP it offers an alternative to the other racing compound, with its own character at the lever. The shape is identical to every other AGPA106, so the fitting routine does not change. Accossato's aims of limited heat build-up, less fade and strong stopping force are the same as across the range.

A Back-to-Back Comparison

The honest way to choose between two racing compounds is to try them on the same bike, at the same circuit, on the same day. Run one set in the first session and note lap times, where you braked and how the front felt as you released the lever into the corner. Swap to the ceramic set for the next session, bed it in over a couple of laps, and repeat. The differences can be subtle, so write them down straight away rather than relying on memory at the end of the day. Some riders prefer one material for a tight, stop-start layout and another for a fast, flowing one. Whatever you decide, mark each set clearly so they are not mixed up later.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the 2024 to 2026 MT-09 SP, Accossato names the AGPA106 as the front pad. Owners of the first SP generation, 2018 to 2023, need the AGPA97 instead, while the rear on both generations is the AGPP88. Plan on two boxes for the twin front calipers and never run a fresh ceramic set on one side and a used set on the other. Before fitting, clean each piston, check both discs and bleed with new fluid. Accossato also catalogues the DK077 and DKS073 discs for the SP.

Road Approval

No German ABE, test report or approval mark exists in our records for this ceramic pad. The AGPA106ZXC is therefore offered solely for racing and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

One box with two Accossato AGPA106 pads in ZXC ceramic racing compound, one set for a single front caliper of the current MT-09 SP.
