DescriptionThe whole story▼

Rain changes how a Bobber should be braked. With less grip at the front, riders lean more on a gentle, early use of the rear brake to settle the bike before the lever is squeezed. For the Triumph Bonneville Bobber 1200 from 2017 to 2023 and the Bobber Black from 2018 to 2023, Accossato lists the AGPP89 rear pad, and its Sintered version is aimed at exactly that situation, giving a consistent bite whether the disc is cold, hot or wet.

Key Features

  • AGPP89 rear pad for the Triumph Bonneville Bobber, 2017 to 2023
  • Bobber 1200 and Bobber Black per Accossato
  • Sintered compound, article AGPP89ST
  • Grip stays high and even, cold or hot, per Accossato
  • Bites well on a wet disc
  • OR is the other version on this plate
  • Two pads for the rear caliper

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato says the Sintered mixture keeps its grip at a high, stable level across low and high temperatures and continues to bite well in the wet. For a rear brake that the rider depends on in poor weather, that stability matters more than anything. The maker adds long pad life and good resistance to fade.

Settling the Bike in the Wet

A good wet-weather habit on a Bobber is to press the rear pedal lightly a moment before using the front brake. The rear of the bike squats slightly, the chassis settles and the front tyre is then loaded more gradually. This only works well if the rear pad gives the same response on every stop, whatever the temperature and however much water is on the disc. The Sintered AGPP89 is designed to provide that consistency. For dry-weather riders, OR is the gentler option on the same plate.

Salt and Spray

Winter roads throw salty spray at the rear caliper. Rinse it with clean water after such rides, let it dry and look for corrosion on the caliper and uneven wear on the pads at each service. Replace old brake fluid in the rear reservoir every couple of years.

Fitment and Compatibility

AGPP89 is Accossato's rear plate for the Bonneville Bobber 1200 across 2017 to 2023 and the Bobber Black across 2018 to 2023. For the front, choose AGPA72 or AGPA29 according to version and year. After fitting, press the pedal repeatedly until it is firm before riding.

Road Approval

We have no ABE or approval documents for AGPP89ST. It is offered for competition use.
