DescriptionThe whole story▼
Brake fluid and paint do not get on, and anyone who has worked on a motorcycle's brakes has probably seen what a single forgotten drop can do to a painted surface. On a Shiver 900, the rear brake reservoir sits among painted and plastic parts that you want to keep looking good. Aprilia sold this naked twin from 2017 to 2019, and a well-kept example still looks fresh today. For the rear reservoir, Accossato lists the TS013, an anodised cap machined from aluminium on CNC equipment.

Construction and Material Quality
For the TS013, Accossato mills aluminium on CNC machines and finishes the part by anodising it in red, black, gold, blue, green, orange or silver. It is made for the original rear reservoir of the bikes on Accossato's list, so on the Shiver 900 the rear master cylinder, hose and caliper remain exactly as they were. When the old cap comes off, inspect the diaphragm or seal beneath it and fit a new one if it has hardened.
A Cloth Over the Paint
Preparation takes longer than the swap itself. Put a bucket of clean water and a sponge within reach before you touch the reservoir. Drape a soft cloth over every painted or plastic surface near the rear reservoir of the Shiver 900, and wear disposable gloves, since brake fluid is unpleasant on the skin as well. Stand the bike upright so the reservoir is level, then clean the outside of the reservoir and the old cap so that no dirt can fall in. Open it, check that the fluid sits between the marks, and close it with the TS013 without delay; the fluid takes up moisture from the air, so the less time it spends open, the better. Tighten the cap gently. If a drop lands on the paint despite the cloth, do not rub it dry with a rag. Rinse it away with plenty of water at once, then dry the area. Finally, press the rear brake pedal several times with the bike at rest and check that it is firm before you ride.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the TS013 for the rear reservoir of the Shiver 900 from 2017 to 2019. The same cap is also listed in our shop for the Shiver 750, the Kawasaki Ninja 250 and the Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE. For the Shiver 900, Accossato also makes the FP001 for the oil filler and the TS004 for the front brake reservoir. Please compare your bike with the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
There is neither an ABE nor a test certificate for the TS013 in our documentation, so its intended place is the track.
