DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato's MY004 quick-throttle kit for the current-generation Suzuki GSX-R1000 pairs the usual CNC-worked aluminium housing with the GR002 grip and the SU008 cable cut for this chassis, built from 2017 onward. As with the GR002-equipped kits sold for other bikes in the range, there is no separate grip colour to pick here; only the cap finish is chosen, with three interchangeable inner cams included regardless of that choice.
Key Features
- Accossato quick-throttle control built specifically for the Suzuki GSX-R1000 (2017 onward)
- Supplied with the matched SU008 throttle cable set
- GR002 racing grip included as standard, no separate grip colour choice
- Eight cap colours for the anodised throttle housing
- Three interchangeable inner cams, 40, 43 and 45 mm, included
- Housing made from two CNC-worked aluminium half-rings
- Sold under code MY004
Construction and Material Quality
Every kit in this range starts from the same two-half-ring aluminium housing, anodised in eight cap colours, and the MY004 is no exception; what sets it apart from the GR001 and GR006 options is the GR002 grip, which Accossato does not list with its own colour range, leaving cap finish as the one choice at purchase. Three inner cams, 40, 43 and 45 mm, come in the box, with a bigger one giving a quicker, longer-stroke throttle according to Accossato and a smaller one the reverse. The SU008 cable bundled with it is cut for the GSX-R1000 introduced in 2017, not the earlier bike covered by SU004.
Upgrading a Current-Generation GSX-R1000
Most of Accossato's GSX-R1000 fitments in this cable range split between the older and newer chassis, and the MY004 is specifically the newer one, meaning an owner of a current GSX-R1000 does not need to check sub-years the way a pre-2017 bike's owner might. Because the kit already bundles the correct SU008 cable, converting a stock GSX-R1000 to Accossato's quick-throttle control is a single order rather than piecing a housing, cable and grip together from separate listings, and the only decision left is the cap colour, since the GR002 grip itself is fixed.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's listing puts the MY004 against the Suzuki GSX-R1000 from 2017 through 2021; a pre-2017 bike takes the separate kit built around the SU004 cable instead, shown on its own on the Fitment tab. Fitting it means replacing the Suzuki's factory throttle control and cable together, not the housing alone.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or parts certificate documented by Accossato for the MY004; registration rules depend on the country, so check before road use. After fitting, confirm that the throttle returns to idle by itself through its full range before riding the bike.
