DescriptionThe whole story▼

At the back of the Triumph Tiger 800 XRX LOW, built from 2018 to 2020, Accossato lists its AGPP89 rear pad, and this is the Organic (OR) version. For many LOW riders, the rear brake is the key to relaxed slow riding: it steadies the bike while the clutch slips, holds it on a camber and keeps U-turns tidy. The OR compound is made for that gentle, frequent use, with a soft initial response and minimal wear on the disc.

Key Features

  • AGPP89OR rear pad for the Triumph Tiger 800 XRX LOW
  • Model years 2018-2020
  • Organic (OR): lasting performance and little disc wear, says Accossato
  • Delicate pedal response for slow-speed control
  • Quiet during town riding
  • Two pads in the box for the rear caliper
  • Also available as ST

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato's summary of Organic reads: long-lasting performance while keeping disc wear down. For a rear brake that is dabbed often and rarely stamped on, that is a well-matched promise. Among the general qualities the brand attributes to its pads are slow wear, fade resistance through controlled heat and a secure stop.

The Slow-Speed Toolkit

Riding instructors often teach riders of heavier bikes to trail a little rear brake through tight, slow turns. On the XRX LOW, which many shorter riders choose precisely because they want to feel in control at low speed, that technique works well with a pad that feeds in softly. Organic material responds gently from cold, so the first manoeuvre out of the garage feels the same as the last one into a parking space. It is also a quiet compound, which is welcome in residential streets. For regular two-up riding in the wet, the ST version of AGPP89 suits better. A tip for practice: an empty car park on a Sunday morning is the ideal place to rehearse figure-of-eight turns with a touch of rear brake, and a soft, predictable pad makes those sessions far less tiring.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPP89 for the rear of the Tiger 800 XRX LOW from 2018 to 2020. The matching front pad for those years is AGPA29. Clean the rear piston before pushing it home, check the rear disc surface and the fluid level, and pump the pedal until firm. A few gentle stops will bed the new pads in.

Road Approval

There is no German ABE or test mark for AGPP89OR in our records. It is sold for racing and competition use.
