DescriptionThe whole story▼

Roadworks with loose chippings, temporary gravel diversions and building sites are part of many daily routes, and a Triumph Street Triple 765 S that passes through them regularly collects grit in its rear caliper. Accossato's list for the 765 S, covering 2017 to 2020, includes the AGPP91 rear pad in the Off-road sintered compound, labelled STMX. It is Accossato's compound for off-road riders and a specialised choice on this bike.

Key Features

  • Rear brake pads for the Triumph Street Triple 765 S, 2017 to 2020
  • STMX compound on the AGPP91 plate (AGPP91STMX)
  • Accossato's compound for off-road riders
  • Relevant for loose chippings, diversions and dust
  • One box fits the rear caliper
  • OR and ST also on this plate
  • No German ABE; competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes STMX as its compound for off-road riders. The AGPP91 plate is shared across several machines, which explains its appearance for the 765 S. Accossato's general aims for its pads include slow wear, reduced fade and strong stopping power.

Loose Chippings and Diversions

Freshly surfaced roads often leave loose chippings, and temporary diversions can run over gravel. Riding through them slowly, with gentle rear braking, is safest. The grit that gets into the rear caliper can accelerate wear. A pad designed for dirty conditions is intended for that environment.

Keeping the Brake Healthy

After riding through dust or gravel, rinse the rear caliper area and check the pads for uneven wear. At pad changes, clean the piston thoroughly, check the seals and pump the pedal firm. For clean tarmac riding, the OR and ST versions are more typical.

A Realistic View

Most 765 S owners will never need a dirt-oriented rear pad, and there is no reason to fit one just in case. The case for STMX is a route that crosses loose surfaces week in, week out, for example a long-term construction zone on the way to work, a gravel yard at the workplace or an unmade lane to a garage. If that describes your riding, the pad is designed for the conditions; otherwise a road recipe from the same plate is the better match for everyday use.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the AGPP91 for the rear of the 765 S from 2017 to 2020. One box fits. The front takes the AGPA72 for the same years, and the DK203 disc is also listed.

Road Approval

No German ABE or test documents are available to us, so this pad is sold for competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Two AGPP91 rear pads in STMX compound.
