DescriptionThe whole story▼

Not every Yamaha NIKEN GT owner rides it gently. The leaning front end rewards a brisk pace on twisting country roads, and some riders even take their three-wheeler to an open track session. For that kind of use Accossato offers front pad AGPA97 in its EV1 street/track compound, listed for the NIKEN GT from 2019 to 2024. It is meant for the rider who enjoys a spirited Sunday and wants firmer bite than a touring mix, without switching to a pure race pad.

Key Features

  • AGPA97 front pad, EV1 street/track compound
  • Catalogued by Accossato for the Yamaha NIKEN GT 2019-2024
  • Accossato: excellent grip for street riding and amateur track use
  • Sharper initial bite for quick road riding
  • Suited to an occasional open track day
  • Two pads, one set for one caliper
  • Also available in OR, ST, EV2 and ZXC

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato positions EV1 as a compound with excellent grip for road use and for amateur circuit riding. In practice that places it between the everyday mixes and the dedicated racing pads: stronger bite when the rider asks for it, while still working on a normal road ride. The company's general claims for its pads are long life, less fading through limited heat and high stopping power; these are its statements, repeated here without our own test data.

A Brisk Ride on Three Wheels

The NIKEN GT invites late, confident braking into bends because the twin front wheels hold their line so well. EV1 answers that with a clear, firm response at the lever when you brake hard from speed on a favourite road. If you ride to a track day, the pads cope with repeated stops better than a commuter compound would. Riders who mostly potter through town will find OR more relaxed; EV1 is for those who ride with intent.

Getting Them Ready

Clean the caliper pistons before pressing them back, fit the pads, then bed them in with a run of progressively harder stops on a quiet road.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA97 for the MXT 850 NIKEN GT from 2019 to 2024. The front brakes of the NIKEN GT sit on two wheels, so check the number of calipers on your bike; each box supplies one caliper. Accossato also catalogues discs DK077 and DKS073 for this model, worth checking if your current discs are worn. Keep discs grease-free and check fluid level after the swap.

Road Approval

No ABE or approval paperwork is available to us for AGPA97EV1, so this pad is offered for use on closed circuits and in competition.

Scope of Delivery

In the box: two AGPA97 front pads in EV1 street/track, one caliper's worth for the NIKEN GT.
