Volume spacer 28/39.5/180, Öhlins part number 04807-01. Öhlins gives each length its own number because the assembly depends on it.
Key Features
- Dimension A 28 mm
- Dimension C 180 mm
- Dimension B 39.5 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
- Öhlins part number 04807-01
What It Is
This one measures 28 mm, 39.5 mm, 180 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. Stainless where corrosion matters, hardened where load matters — the choice is made per position. Circlips are single-use in practice: once sprung, they no longer hold their groove reliably. A wrong washer under an adjuster changes the click range without anyone noticing why.
Why the Original
The part is identical to what Öhlins fits in production — same supplier, same specification. Rebuilding to specification only works if the parts are to specification — that starts here. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on.
How to Be Sure It Fits
If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 04807-01. Öhlins states dimension a 28 mm, dimension b 39.5 mm, dimension c 180 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Öhlins uses metric threads throughout, but the length and head form are specific to the position. Thread size and length identify the fastener; substituting a hardware-store equivalent is not sensible in a pressurised damper.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.
