The seat face has to be flat enough for the first shim to seal against it.

Key Features

Öhlins part number 02806-01

Original Öhlins service part

Function

This position is identified by its number rather than by a dimension. Port area and seat geometry decide the damping before any adjuster is touched. Replacing a piston is a workshop job because the shim stack has to be rebuilt in the correct order. Piston bands are consumables — they wear against the bore and lose their seal gradually.

Genuine Service Part

The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. Öhlins keeps service parts available for units long after they leave the current price list. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not.

Identifying the Right Part

02806-01 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Needle geometry sets the shape of the adjustable range, not just its size. A scored piston face means oil bypasses the shims entirely.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 02806-01

Category: Pistons

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/02806-01_9a6be020-3850-403c-8815-af63b168aa0d.png?v=1788871832
