Manufacture and Tolerance
Every Öhlins dealer can re-valve the unit, because the shim stack is a documented, serviceable assembly. The wire is progressively wound where the application calls for it and straight where it does not. Rates are offered in defined steps, so a change can be made in one direction at a time.

Fitting
The springs come powder-coated and need no preparation before they go in. If the fork has not been serviced recently, bushes and seals are worth replacing while it is apart. Check the free length against the old springs before fitting — a sagged original often measures short.
Road Approval
Road approval: not applicable to the spring on its own. Öhlins issues approvals against complete suspension units, not individual springs.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its suspension is fitted by an authorised service centre. We are one, and we do the work here: installation, servicing and a proper setup. Ask us and we will include it with the order.
