DescriptionThe whole story▼
When long sessions in the saddle demand as much from your ergonomics as they do from your machine, the LighTech FTRDU016R rearset delivers. Machined specifically for the Ducati Panigale 899 (2013–2016) and built around the R-specification folding footpeg and toepeg system, it places your feet exactly where they need to be — lap after lap, corner after corner — with none of the fatigue that comes from poorly positioned controls.
Key Features
- CNC-machined from a single billet of Ergal 7075-T6 aluminium for exceptional rigidity and long-term durability
- Folding footpegs and toepegs in the R-specification reduce the risk of peg-strike in deep lean and protect the assembly on a tip-over
- Multiple height and setback adjustment positions let you dial in the exact riding triangle for your physique and style
- Ball-bearing shift and brake levers eliminate play for precise, consistent feel under pressure
- Integrated GP-shift (reverse shift pattern) for seamless heel-toe compatibility with racing boot soles
- All individual components are available as spare parts, protecting your long-term investment
- Full fitting hardware included — ready to bolt on straight from the box
Build Quality and Rider Comfort
Ergal 7075-T6 is the same high-strength aluminium alloy used throughout top-tier motorsport. LighTech machines the FTRDU016R from a solid billet — no casting, no welding, no weak points. The result is a rearset that feels completely planted under hard braking and aggressive corner entry, while the folding peg mechanism means a brief moment of contact with the ground will not snap a lever or bend a mount.
The R-version's folding footpegs and toepegs are a genuine ergonomic advantage on a full day's riding. The pegs return to position reliably, and the broad adjustment range means riders of different heights and proportions can find a comfortable, fatigue-free stance without compromise. Ball-bearing pivot points on both the shift and brake levers remove any slack, so inputs translate directly — critical when you are deep into braking zones and need absolute confidence from your controls.
Track Use and GP-Shift
The FTRDU016R is designed exclusively for GP-shift (reverse shift pattern): first gear up, second and above down. This is the standard racing configuration and is essential for heel-toe downshifts in racing boots. If you run a standard shift pattern, this rearset is not compatible — please see the corresponding standard-shift version. For Panigale 899 riders already running GP-shift or looking to make the switch, this is a complete, uncompromising solution that matches the machine's race-bred character.
