DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES RSV4 caps the RSV4 RR's cylinder head ports with machined blanks in place of the reed housings.
Key Features
- Aprilia RSV4 RR (2015–2020)
- Blanks the secondary air ports in both heads
- Machined from solid aluminium
- O-ring sealed, no jointing compound
- Original fastener positions
- Standard housings refit at any time
The Half That Stays
Two moulded housings, one per bank, plumbed to the airbox and bolted to the heads. An electrical eliminator satisfies the controller and leaves every one of these components exactly where it was.
Aged by Heat, Not Mileage
The reeds inside flex on every closed throttle at cylinder head temperature, which is why they crack on well-kept bikes as readily as on hard-used ones. Age alone is enough to make them worth removing.
What a Failed Reed Looks Like
Soot on the inside of the airbox and a filter discoloured long before its service interval. It is almost always discovered while chasing something unrelated, by which point the residue has been travelling for a while.
Turned From One Piece
Each blank is machined from solid with the O-ring groove cut into the sealing face. There is nothing inside to perish and no reason to ever look at it again.
Both Banks or Neither
Capping one head while the other stays open produces no measurable change. The parts come as a pair because that is the only way the deletion means anything.
A Sensible Starting Point
Aprilia gave the RR the same engine, the same frame and the same electronics as the more expensive version, and charged less for suspension a race build replaces anyway. Paddocks have noticed.
Honest Numbers on a Dyno
Air arriving in the exhaust after combustion moves what the sensor reads, and a run made with the system still live describes the plumbing rather than the engine.
Nothing Drilled
Aprilia's own fastener positions and torque values throughout, with no thread in either head disturbed.
The Circuit Is a Separate Problem
The controller monitors its solenoid regardless of what is bolted to the heads, so the electrical eliminator is still what keeps the panel clear.
Fully Reversible
Both standard housings refit on their own fasteners and no seals are consumed in the process.
