The Earlier Plumbing
Aprilia rerouted this whole area for the 2025 model year, so a Tuono built before that takes this part number and a later one does not. The registration document settles it in a moment and guessing does not.
Fuel Vapour Has to Go Somewhere
Warm petrol builds pressure in a sealed tank, and regulations require that pressure to be captured rather than released. Charcoal absorbs it and a solenoid later feeds it back through the intake to be burnt.
Between the Shock and the Swingarm
That is where Aprilia found room for the vessel, alongside three hoses and a steel bracket. On a compact middleweight there was never anywhere better and the packaging shows it.
Nothing Behind the Engine Is Free
Every centimetre back there is contested by the shock reservoir, the linkage and whatever exhaust the owner has fitted. Taking a plastic box out of that argument is worth more than the weight it represents.
Breathing Without a Canister
The tank still needs to equalise, so the kit includes the fitting that lets it. Cutting the hose short and leaving it open works until the bike lies on its side in a van, and then it stops working.
A Circuit That Answers
European bikes watch the purge solenoid electrically, so pulling its plug earns a stored fault. Completing the circuit instead means the panel shows nothing and no scan finds anything later.
Eight Hundred and Twenty Millimetres
Seat height, which is unusually low for a bike with this much ground clearance underneath it. Aprilia found a compromise that most of the class has not, and it is a quiet reason the Tuono suits more riders than its specification suggests.
Filled to the Neck
Brimming the tank pushes liquid fuel into the charcoal, and a saturated canister causes hard starting and an uneven idle that no service interval addresses. Replacement is the only cure and removal is the only prevention.
Back to Standard
Bracket, hoses and vessel all refit in their original positions. Keep the parts in a box and nothing about the conversion is permanent.
Road Legality
Evaporative control forms part of the type approval, and deleting it moves the motorcycle firmly into competition use.
