An Unlikely Conversion
Quick-action throttles on power cruisers are rare, and the owners who fit them are the ones using the Diavel's chassis rather than its silhouette. There are more of those than the styling suggests.
The Block the Kit Displaces
Fitting the assembly generally takes the mounting the original switches used. This unit gives them somewhere to live, wired to Ducati's own connector.
Supplementary
It mounts beside the new hardware rather than replacing it. That is the point most often misread and it is worth resolving before ordering rather than after.
Titanium Anodising
One finish, matched to the throttle hardware. The Diavel already carries a great deal of exposed machined aluminium and it belongs among that rather than against it.
Sealed Contacts
Military-specification elements inside the machined body. A Diavel covers distance rather than laps, which means a decade of weather rather than a season of pressure washing.
Pre-Wired
Nothing cut into the harness. On a motorcycle ridden long distances from home, an installation with no splices is the one that keeps working at the far end.
A Chassis Doing Unlikely Work
Making a 240 section rear tyre turn required specific swingarm geometry and a great deal of quiet development. It remains the least advertised and most impressive engineering on the whole motorcycle, and it is why a Diavel behaves nothing like it looks.
Eight Years of Production
Ducati sold the original Diavel from 2011 to 2019 and then replaced it with something recognisably similar. That is a long run for a motorcycle everybody outside Bologna expected to fail within two seasons.
Ridden, Not Parked
Diavel owners cover distance rather than posing outside cafés, which is not what the shape leads people to assume. The mileage on a used one is usually higher than a comparable sports bike's and the wear on its controls reflects that.
