DescriptionThe whole story▼
Kawasaki moved the Ram Air intake when they redrew the ZX-10R's face for 2026, and that single change is why the induction ducting from the previous bike cannot be carried over. CK26065 is the replacement path: a carbon inlet tube supplied complete with its support, routing pressurised air from the new intake mouth back to the airbox behind the steering head.
Key Features
- Routed for the relocated Gen 7 Ram Air intake, not adapted from the earlier duct
- Supplied as tube plus support, so the assembly is braced rather than hanging on the airbox
- Carbon construction in place of the moulded plastic original
- Prepreg inner skin, vacuum bagged, autoclave cured
- Part of the closed racing bodywork, fitted behind the CK26210 cowl
What the Duct Actually Does
A Ram Air system only works if the path from the intake mouth to the airbox stays sealed and keeps its section. Every leak bleeds off the pressure the system exists to build, and every collapsed or distorted section throttles it. That is a mechanical problem before it is an aerodynamic one, which is why the support matters as much as the tube: a duct that is braced against the frame does not move under load, so the joint at the airbox stays tight through a full race distance rather than working loose over it.
Where It Sits
The tube lives behind the upper cowl and is fitted while the front of the bike is open, before CK26210 goes on. It is a component of the closed racing bodywork rather than a bolt-on intake for a standard machine, and it assumes the racing cowl is in place around it.
The Joint at the Airbox
The one place this assembly is worth re-checking is where the tube meets the airbox. It is the only joint in the path that is made on the bike rather than in the factory, and it is the one that has to stay sealed for the system to do anything at all. Look at it after the first session out: a joint that has shifted will usually show as a witness mark on the tube where it has been rubbing, long before anyone notices the bike is down on top-end.
Fitment
For the 2026 Kawasaki ZX-10 R and ZX-10 RR. The intake position changed with the Gen 7 model, so this part is specific to 2026 onward.
Road Approval
Supplied as a competition component without approval documentation.
