DescriptionThe whole story▼
A complete Racing Line for a 125 that keeps its EC and ECE type approval. That combination is unusual enough to be the point of the product: headers, collector and silencer all replaced, and the registration document stays untouched.
Key Features
- Complete system: headers, collector and silencer replace the entire standard exhaust path
- Titanium construction throughout
- EC and ECE type approved — a full system that stays road legal
- Racing sound output, which is what a Racing Line is built for
- Fits the MT-125 naked, the YZF-R125 sportbike and the YZF-R25
- Akrapovic publishes no measured weight or power figures for this system
Why There Are No Numbers on This Page
For most systems in this catalogue Akrapovic publishes a dyno sheet and a weight, and those figures appear here. For this one the manufacturer publishes neither. Rather than estimate from a comparable part or repeat brochure language, this page says so plainly: there is no measured weight saving and no measured power gain to report.
What is documented is the construction, the materials and the approval, and those are real. If a measured figure matters to your decision, ask us and we will put the question to Akrapovic before you order.
What an A1 Rider Can Expect
The MT-125 and YZF-R125 sit inside the A1 licence class at 15 PS, and the law caps them there. A type-approved exhaust cannot lift a 125 past that limit without taking the homologation with it — so nobody should expect a meaningful power increase from this system, and none is claimed.
What a full system changes on a small engine is the character: the whole exhaust path is replaced rather than just the silencer, which affects how the engine picks up and how it sounds. The YZF-R25, with 249 cc and around 35 PS, sits in the A2 class and has more room to respond.
What a Full System Means Here
This is not a silencer swap. The headers, the collector and the standard catalytic converter all come off, and on a small bike with tight bodywork that is more work than the size of the machine suggests. Budget a workshop session rather than an evening in the garage.
What comes back on is a complete titanium path from the cylinder head. On a 125 that is a large proportion of the motorcycle's exhaust system replaced at once, and it is why a Racing Line for a small bike costs what a slip-on for a much larger one does.
The Approval Is Worth More on an A1 Bike
A 125 is often a first motorcycle, ridden to school or to work by someone who cannot afford a problem with the registration document or the insurer. A full system without type approval would put both at risk.
This one carries EC and ECE certificates, which is the whole reason it belongs in a road-bike catalogue rather than a track-only one.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-Y125R11-HZT covers the Yamaha MT-125, YZF-R125 and YZF-R25 from model year 2021 through 2026. For the earlier 2014 to 2019 MT-125 and YZF-R125 the corresponding part is S-Y125R4-HRT.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval, with the certificates supplied and downloadable here. The system is a legal replacement for road use in the European Union and does not affect the A1 classification.
