DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fourteen kilograms. Not one, not four — fourteen. The standard Hayabusa exhaust system weighs 20.44 kg, which is more than some complete motorcycles' worth of components, and the Akrapovic Racing Line (Titanium) S-S13R4-APLT replaces it with 6.49 kg. That is 68.2 per cent, and it is the largest absolute weight reduction available on any motorcycle in this catalogue.
Key Features
- 6.49 kg against the standard 20.44 kg: 14.0 kg gone, a 68.2 per cent reduction
- 8.8 PS (6.5 kW) more at 9,900 rpm and 5.7 Nm more at 8,000 rpm, measured back to back on the Akrapovic dyno
- Peak output 193.1 PS against the standard 185.2 PS
- Peak torque 158.3 Nm against 153.0 Nm
- High-grade titanium muffler outer sleeve
- 100 dB at 5,500 rpm — a racing output, and the number is stated
- Optional noise damper V-TUV315 available for circuits with a limit
Why the Standard System Is So Heavy
The Hayabusa has to pass Euro 5 with 1,340 cc and 190 PS, and Suzuki solved that with two very large silencers, a substantial collector and a catalytic converter sized to match. The result weighs 20.44 kg — around eight per cent of the motorcycle's dry mass sitting mostly behind and above the rear axle.
Taking fourteen of those kilograms out changes the machine more than any other single part can. A Hayabusa is not a light motorcycle and never will be, but this is the one modification where the number is large enough to be felt at every speed, not just on a dyno sheet.
Performance
8.8 PS and 5.7 Nm on an engine that already makes 185 PS is a genuine gain, and it comes from the same place as the weight: removing the emissions hardware the standard system has to carry. Peak power rises to 193.1 PS and arrives 200 rpm higher.
Akrapovic notes one behaviour to expect: on Euro 5+ machines with two lambda sensors the engine check light will come on, because the ECU detects a deviation in the stock catalytic converter's parameters. That is normal with this system, not a fault.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-S13R4-APLT fits the Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-1300R from model year 2021 through 2026. The product was developed and tested on EU-specification machines; fitment and measured performance on bikes for other markets can differ. Installation is quoted at around 90 minutes.
Road Approval
None. This product does not meet emission compliance requirements for street or highway use. At 100 dB it is a circuit exhaust, and fitting it to a road-registered motorcycle is the owner's legal responsibility. If you want an Akrapovic on a registered Hayabusa, the type-approved slip-on S-S13SO4-HRAATBL/1 is the part that keeps the paperwork.
