DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Scrambler Icon is the Scrambler most people picture: the entry to the range since 2015, easy to ride and easy to like. Those qualities make it a natural choice for rental fleets and guided tours, where a different rider takes the bike out every few days, often after years on something else. For the people who run such fleets, slow tip-overs by riders on an unfamiliar machine are part of the business, not an exception. Accossato's PF044 front axle sliders are listed for the Scrambler Icon from 2015 to 2018.
Key Features
- Front axle sliders for the Ducati Scrambler Icon, 2015 to 2018
- Accossato PF044, one for each side of the front wheel
- Aluminium and plastic, black
- Spacers, screws and the other mounting parts in the kit, according to Accossato
- Sacrificial parts, worth inspecting after each rental
- PP018 rear sliders and TP090 crash pads listed for the Icon
- No German ABE on file; for track and competition
Construction and Material Quality
The PF044 is a pair of black sliders made from aluminium and plastic, one for each side of the front wheel. Accossato states that the kit contains spacers, screws and all other parts required for mounting. When a Scrambler Icon tips over or slides, the sliders are intended to be the first contact at the front, ahead of the fork and the axle area, and that can reduce the damage there. They are consumables and are simply replaced once they have taken a heavy hit, which makes them easy to manage in a fleet.
Running a Small Rental Fleet
Many rental tip-overs happen early: pulling out of the yard, at the first fuel stop or in the first car park. A thorough handover reduces them. Walk the renter round the Scrambler Icon, show the side stand, the neutral light and the controls, and let them ride a short loop on the premises before they leave. Ask honestly about recent experience; a rider who has not been on a bike for years may need a quiet first hour. Photograph the bike at handover and return, including the sliders, because a fresh scrape on a slider is often the only sign of a drop at walking pace. Check sliders and their fixings between rentals, keep spare pairs on the shelf, and replace a scarred one before the next customer arrives. Agree clearly in the contract what counts as damage. For the renter, the rule is simple: if the bike went over, say so, even if nothing seems broken.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato gives the PF044 for the Scrambler Icon from 2015 to 2018, and we have listed it for exactly those years. The PP018 rear axle sliders and the TP090 crash pads are also listed for the Icon. In our shop, the same front sliders are catalogued for the Scrambler Classic, the Sixty2 and the Scrambler 800 Café Racer. For a fleet with bikes of different years, send us the frame numbers and we will check each Scrambler Icon against the list.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor a test certificate for the PF044 has reached us, and so the sliders are offered for use in competition.
