DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Aprilia Shiver 750 has spent much of its life as a commuter. The naked V-twin is slim enough for city traffic, comfortable enough for daily use and lively enough for the ring road at the end of the day. City riding brings its own kind of fall, though: a car that stops without warning, a tram rail met at the wrong angle, a wet cobblestone at a junction. For the Shiver 750 of 2007 to 2016, Accossato lists the PF031, a black set of two front axle sliders made from aluminium and plastic.

Key Features

  • Front axle sliders for the Aprilia Shiver 750, 2007 to 2016
  • Accossato front fork protection, part number PF031
  • Two pieces, one for each side
  • Made from aluminium and plastic, black
  • Spacers, screws and other fitting parts supplied, according to Accossato
  • Can reduce damage to the fork and axle area in a tip-over
  • Rear sliders PP011 and crash pads TP052 also listed for this bike
  • No German ABE documented; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

The PF031 is built from aluminium and plastic and comes in black. There are two in the box, one per side of the front wheel, along with the spacers, screws and remaining fitting parts that Accossato includes for mounting. The idea is straightforward: when a Shiver falls or slides, the sliders should meet the road first, and that can reduce the damage to the lower fork and the axle area. If one takes a heavy knock, you replace it and carry on.

Rush Hour on a Naked Twin

Commuting in town calls for a slightly different riding style. Leave a generous gap to the car in front, so that a sudden stop does not end with a locked front wheel on a patch of diesel. Cross tram and railway lines as close to a right angle as you can, and never brake on them. Watch parked cars for opening doors and for drivers pulling out without looking. In dense traffic, the Shiver 750's narrow build makes filtering tempting; where the law allows it, do it slowly and be ready to stop. At traffic lights, put your foot down on clean tarmac rather than a painted line or a manhole cover. If you do fall at low speed, get out of the traffic first, then lift the bike with your legs and check the sliders, the levers and the handlebar ends. A damaged slider should be replaced before the next ride.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's list covers the Shiver 750 from 2007 to 2016 with the PF031. The same front sliders are listed at Inter-Pace for the Shiver 750 GT, the Dorsoduro 900 and the Caponord 1200. For the Shiver 750 itself, Accossato also offers the PP011 rear axle sliders and the TP052 crash pads. Please compare your bike's details with the application list before ordering.

Road Approval

No German ABE or test document is on file for the PF031. We therefore supply it for circuit use and competition.
