DescriptionThe whole story▼
Honda built the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade of 2020 around an engine whose bore and stroke were taken from the RC213V MotoGP bike, and it was conceived with the racetrack in mind from the outset. Plenty of owners ride theirs on the road during the week and take it to a circuit at weekends. That split suits a lever sold for track use. The Accossato EDF011 is a machined aluminium brake lever for the original master cylinder of the 2020 and 2021 RR-R, with adjustable reach and a blade in three lengths.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, 2020 and 2021
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Reach adjustable to race or road gloves
- Three blade lengths; standard roughly 138 mm
- Seven anodised colours on the blade, black hub
- CNC-machined aluminium, fixed rather than folding
- Supplied in an Accossato box
- No German ABE documented: for the track
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato, today based in Villastellone near Turin, runs a plant with CNC machining and forging presses. The EDF011 is a CNC-machined aluminium lever, anodised black on the hub and in your chosen colour on the blade. The hub houses the pivot and the reach adjustment, and the blade is fixed to it rigidly, without a folding joint. For track use, that means one less moving part to check between sessions and a lever that behaves identically on every lap.
Swapping for Track Weekends
Because no German ABE is documented for the EDF011, the tidy way to use it on a bike that also sees the road is to treat it as part of your track kit. Keep the original lever safe in a labelled bag, and fit the Accossato lever when the bike is prepared for a circuit day, along with the other changes many riders make at that point, such as taping over lights and removing mirrors. Set the reach once, note the setting, and it will be the same every time you fit the lever. On track, many RR-R riders prefer the short blade for two-finger braking, while the long blade gives more leverage to those who stop with four fingers. After the weekend, refit the original lever before the bike goes back on the road, and check that the brake light works as it should. Once you have done it a couple of times, the swap becomes a routine part of packing up, no more complicated than changing the tyre pressures.
Fitment and Compatibility
The EDF011 is listed by Accossato for the CBR1000RR-R of 2020 and 2021 and mounts on the original master cylinder. Later RR-R model years are not covered by this listing. For the clutch, Accossato's ESY688H is listed for the RR-R from 2020 to 2024, while the earlier CBR1000RR has a different brake lever on the list, the EDF033.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for this lever and it is sold for track use, which is also why we suggest keeping the original for the road.
