The Talos X80 is the pinnacle of the SBK racing brake caliper range — a purpose-built, uncompromising piece of hardware machined for serious superbikes, professional race machines and high-specification track builds. Every dimension, every material choice and every surface treatment on this caliper exists to deliver maximum braking force, razor-sharp modulation and absolute thermal stability under sustained track punishment.
Key Features
- Monoblock caliper body machined from a single billet for total rigidity — no flex, no distortion under extreme braking loads
- P4 piston layout: 2 × 34 mm and 2 × 38 mm pistons for exceptional initial bite combined with fine modulation at the apex
- Titanium pistons with TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating for outstanding heat resistance and minimised friction
- Hard anodised finish delivers maximum scratch resistance, thermal durability and a purposeful racing aesthetic
- 108 mm mounting pitch is a dedicated superbike racing standard — engineered for professional racing suspension rather than OEM forks
- Compatible with brake discs from 290 mm to 330 mm in diameter, covering a wide range of SBK and track configurations
Monoblock Construction — the Foundation of Braking Precision
Where two-piece calipers introduce micro-flex at the joint under hard braking, the X80's monoblock architecture eliminates that variable entirely. The single-piece body maintains its geometry under load, translating directly into a consistent, defined lever feel that lets riders push their braking points further lap after lap. There is no flex to absorb and no distortion to corrupt the hydraulic signal — just an immediate, repeatable response every time the lever is pulled.
P4 34/38 Pistons — Power and Feel in Equal Measure
The staggered four-piston arrangement pairs two 34 mm pistons with two 38 mm pistons to generate an aggressive initial clamp force while preserving the sensitivity needed for precise trail-braking and corner entry. The titanium pistons — finished with a TiN coating — resist heat soak across long stints, keeping hydraulic consistency high and fade low regardless of track temperature or braking frequency.
Hard Anodised Finish — Built for the Long Haul
The hard anodised surface treatment is not a cosmetic afterthought. It bonds to the aluminium substrate at a molecular level, providing a protective layer that resists abrasion, heat cycling and the corrosive effects of brake fluid and track grime. The result is a caliper that looks and performs like new after repeated high-temperature use — a quality that separates genuine race hardware from track-day replicas.
Fitment and Compatibility
This caliper is designed exclusively for superbikes, dedicated track machines and race builds using professional racing suspension. The 108 mm mounting pitch is not compatible with standard OEM fork mounts found on production motorcycles. A suitable racing or aftermarket fork leg with the correct 108 mm caliper mount is required for installation.
Compatible makes and platforms include: Aprilia RSV4, RSV4 R, RSV4 RR, RSV4 RF, RSV4 1100, RSV4 1100 Factory, RS 660, RS 457 — BMW S1000RR, M1000RR, HP4, HP4R — Ducati 848, 899, 959, 1199, 1199 S, 1199 R, 1299, 1299 S, V2, V4, V4 R, V4 S — Honda CBR 600 RR, CBR 1000 RR, CBR 1000 RR-R — Kawasaki ZX-6R, ZX-10 R, ZX-10 RR, ZX-4 RR, Ninja 400 — KTM RC 390, RC8 1190, 990 RC R — MV Agusta F3, F4 — Triumph Daytona 675, Daytona 675 R, Daytona 765, Daytona 765 Moto 2, Street Triple 765 R, Street Triple 765 RS — Yamaha R1, R1M, R3, R6, R7, R9 — Suzuki GSX-R 600, GSX-R 750, GSX-R 1000 — Bimota KB998 Rimini, 450 SR, 675 SR-R — CFMoto, QJMotor SKR 800 RR, V2 890, V2 955 — and other platforms fitted with 108 mm racing caliper mounts.
