Every component — header, silencer body, and end cap — is fabricated from aerospace-grade titanium, striking the ideal balance between structural rigidity, heat resistance, and significant weight reduction over the stock steel system.

Construction and Materials

Where most aftermarket systems compromise with stainless steel headers or an alloy canister, the Grid-O specifies titanium at every point in the exhaust path. Titanium's exceptional strength-to-weight ratio means the system survives sustained high-temperature cycling without warping or surface degradation, while the reduced mass contributes directly to a lower centre of gravity and improved handling response. The end cap carries the same titanium specification — there are no mild-steel weak points anywhere in the assembly.

The Italian handcraft heritage behind every Spark system is evident in the weld quality and the precision with which each collector junction and silencer mounting aligns to the SC82 chassis. This is not a catalogue item adapted from a universal jig; it is a model-specific design shaped around the CBR 1000 RR-R's frame architecture.

Track Performance and Road Use

The Grid-O designation is intentionally uncompromising. Developed for circuits where decibel limits are absent — club track days, endurance events, and championship rounds — it produces 114 dB at 5,500 rpm without the DB-Killer fitted. For road riding or noise-controlled venues, the removable DB-Killer G9980 (supplied) brings the system into a more manageable register without requiring any permanent modification.

To extract the full performance benefit of the system, Spark and Inter-Pace strongly recommend a dedicated race map or a dyno tune calibrated to the revised exhaust gas flow. The combination of the SC82's inline-four and a full titanium system responds well to remapping, and without it a degree of mid-range response may go unrealised.
